Pune: Residents of Bibvewadi Distressed by Poor Road Conditions near Dolphin Chowk
Pune, 17th July 2023: The residents and commuters near Dolphin Chowk in Bibvewadi are facing significant distress as the road conditions in the area have deteriorated to an alarming extent.
According to a local resident and shop owner, the road near Dolphin Chowk has been in an increasingly worsened state. Despite ongoing road work, which has remained incomplete for approximately 1.5 months, a significant amount of gravel (khadi) has been left unattended on the road. The situation has now been exacerbated by the heavy rainfall, transforming the road into a nightmare filled with numerous potholes. Commuters find themselves navigating treacherous terrain, reminiscent of rural pathways rather than the standard expected in a bustling city like Pune.
Responding to the concerns raised by the residents, the Chief Engineer of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) stated that road refurbishment work is already in progress in Bibvewadi and nearing completion. The tender for the repairing and concretization of the entire road near Dolphin Chowk in Bibvewadi has been issued. However, due to the ongoing rain, the work has not commenced. The Chief Engineer assured that as soon as the rain subsides, the necessary repairs will begin promptly and will be completed within a reasonable timeframe.
Unfortunately, while footpath work and water pipeline projects are underway, the road repairs have been entirely neglected, lamented a concerned citizen residing in the area.
The residents of Bibvewadi near Dolphin Chowk eagerly await the swift resolution of this road infrastructure issue, as they endure hardships during their daily commute. The timely completion of the pending road work will undoubtedly alleviate their distress and restore normalcy to the area.
