Mohammadwadi, 13th April 2026: Residents of Elina Living A & B Wing Co-operative Housing Society, located on NIBM Road in Pune, have formally raised serious concerns against Highland Bar, alleging ongoing disturbance and public nuisance in the residential area.

In a written complaint addressed to the Central Excise Commissioner’s Office, Pune, residents stated that the presence of the bar at the entrance of their society has led to daily inconvenience and safety concerns. According to the complaint, intoxicated customers frequently gather outside the society gate, creating an atmosphere of fear and discomfort.

The letter highlights multiple issues, including loud music played late into the night, often beyond midnight, public altercations, use of abusive language, and incidents of public urination near the society entrance. Residents have also expressed concern over women’s safety, stating that many feel unsafe due to inappropriate behaviour and comments from intoxicated individuals.

Additionally, society members pointed out that vehicles belonging to bar customers are often parked irresponsibly, blocking the road and disrupting traffic movement in the area.

The complaint further states that the presence of a bar directly at the entrance of a densely populated residential society is unsuitable and poses risks to children and families living there.

Residents claim they had previously approached the bar management regarding these issues, but no effective action has been taken so far. They have now urged authorities to intervene and take immediate action, including the possible shutdown of the establishment.

Copies of the complaint have also been sent to the Police Commissioner’s Office, Pune City, and Kalepadal Police Station in Mohammadwadi, seeking prompt attention to the matter.
