Pune: Restaurant Fined Rs 1 Lakh For COVID Rule Violation

Pune, 23rd May 2021: A restaurant in Bhawani Peth has been fined Rs one lakh by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for allegedly violating the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) prevention norms.

A team from PMC found many citizens dining at Milan Veg Restaurant in Bhawani Peth. Accordingly, the restaurant owner was made to pay Rs one lakh fine through a cheque.

Somnath Bankar, Assistant Commissioner, Bhavani Peth ward office, inspected the restaurant after getting information that many people were dining there. He said that if the restaurant violates the rule next time, then it will be sealed.

At present, dining is not allowed in the restaurants/hotels, however, they can do home delivery of food items.
