Pune, 13th June 2022: It has been revealed that a highly educated couple cheated a retired scientist of Rs one crore 16 lakh 52 thousand by showing the lure of lucrative return on investment.

 A case has been registered against accused Jitendra Shedge and his wife Preeti at the Cyber ​​Police Station for offences under the Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complainant is originally from Nagpur. Jitendra Shedge has been arrested in the case and the court has remanded him in police custody for five days.
The Shedge couple started a website called PuneCityDeals.com. The Shedge couple had initially made available mobile recharge, and electricity payment. The couple had started offering some discounts on mobile recharge, and electricity payment through the website. After that, the accused had started a plan to return the investment in 2019, according to the cyber police.
Investors had invested in a scheme started by the Shedge couple. Some were even reimbursed. So the complainant scientist from Nagpur approached them for information about the investment plan. The Shedge couple informed them about the plan. Shedge attracted them into the trap with the lure of extra returns. Believing the allegations made by the accused Shedge couple, in the last two years, the complainant scientist has invested Rs one crore 16 lakh 52 thousand along with the money of the relatives. But there was no return money on the investment. So he recently complained to the cyber police station. After verifying the complaint form, the cyber police arrested Jitendra Shedge.
The accused Shedge couple is suspected of defrauding many with the lure of investment. Police have requested people who have been cheated to complain to Cyber ​​Police Station located at Police Headquarters in Shivajinagar.
