Pune: Rickshaw Driver Beaten Up By Customer, Loses Speech

Pune, 3rd December 2022: An autorickshaw driver recently suffered a violent beating from a customer that left him unable to speak.

 

Prasad Palkar, the driver, is 59 years old and has filed a complaint with the Yerawada police station against an unnamed passenger. The individual was assaulted on March 18 and sustained a significant head injury as a result, according to the complaint, and a vein burst. After the accident, he was forced to completely cease driving. After receiving treatment for nine months, Palkar filed a complaint on December 1 against the alleged passenger.

According to the police, the accused passenger was going with two pals from Kalyani Nagar to Bhosale Nagar. The accused demanded the driver take a different route and began griping about a broken meter when they arrived at the Golf Club chowk. Additionally, he charged Palkar with speeding and endangering their life. It started as a verbal altercation but eventually turned physical. After attacking the driver, the passenger hired another autorickshaw to take him where he needed to go.

 

A case has been filed under the Indian Penal Code section 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing serious harm). After getting over his shock, the complainant arrived at the station and filed the lawsuit. The investigation is ongoing.
