Pune, 12th January 2022: The Maharashtra state government has reserved building permits of 23 villages included under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). Thus, unauthorized constructions in these 23 villages will be regularized by PMRDA.

Accordingly, the administration has clarified that the municipal corporation will not accept applications from these villages. The state government has permitted the regularization of illegal constructions till December 31, 2020.

PMC has started to accept regularization proposals through architects online from January 10 on its website. The deadline to submit the proposal is March 31, 2022.

There are many unauthorized constructions in earlier merged 11 villages and 23 newly merged villages in the PMC limit. As the development plan for the newly merged 23 villages is being prepared by PMRDA, and it is in the final stage, the state government, therefore, gave the responsibility to PMRDA to manage these villages.

The authority held the right to regularize the unauthorized construction in Gunthewari land. “Now, PMC won’t be accepting the proposals from these villages”, said Prashant Waghmare, city engineer of PMC.
