Pune: Risk Of Accidents Increases Due To Barricades On Swargate-Satara Road

Katraj, 25th April 2023: On the Swargate-Satara road, the asphalt road was dug and concretized 1.5 – 2 months ago in the Chowk of Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Katraj. However, the road work is still incomplete and roads are covered with fences by putting up barricades, creating chances of accidents.
The road work was found to be still incomplete by the Road Department. As there is a gap in the middle near the bifurcation of the road, accidents are happening due to vehicles getting stuck at the place, barricades are also placed and there is a risk of accidents due to falling of barricades on the road.
Many citizens and drivers use the road in front of Katraj Dairy to go to Trimurti Chowk, and Dattanagar Chowk from Swargate-Satara main road through Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park. The slope in front of Katraj Dairy is also steep and there is a risk of accidents. Therefore, there is a demand that the unfinished work should be completed as soon as possible and the road should be completed by reducing the steep slope.
Atul Kadu, Junior Engineer Road Department informed, “Concrete road work in Katraj Chowk is 90 per cent complete and some minor work is remaining. The road work will be completed within a week as some plants of concreting mixer are closed due to rain.”
