Pimpri-Chinchwad, 24th December 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic police have announced temporary traffic changes around the Vijaystambh Pernefata area on Pune-Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) Highway due to an upcoming program. The orders, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil, will be in effect from 10 a.m. on December 31, 2025, until midnight on January 1, 2026, to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles.

Access for all private vehicles will be restricted on the Chakan–Shikrapur and Shikrapur–Chakan routes, while buses carrying event attendees will be allowed. Private cars, jeeps, and other light vehicles of attendees will not be permitted on these roads. Heavy and multi-axle vehicles coming from Chakan Alandi Phata, Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi Chowk, and Panjarpol Chowk towards Alandi will also face restrictions.

Vehicles coming from Mumbai towards Ahilyanagar will be rerouted depending on their type: heavy trucks and goods vehicles will use alternate routes via Wadgaon Maval–HP Chowk–Mhalunge–Vasoli Phata or Waghjai Nagar–Birdawadi–Rohkal Phata–Pune Nashik Road–Khed–Manchar–Narayanagaon–Alephata, while private light vehicles will take the Talegaon-Chakna route via Khed and Shirur. Traffic from Alandi and Koyali towards Rasika Hotel Chowk will be redirected via Chakan.

Similarly, heavy vehicles from MIDC areas like Chakan, Mhalunge, Markal, and Talegaon will face restrictions, and alternate routes have been designated to ensure smooth movement.

For attendees heading to Vijaystambh, buses from Nashik will take the Chakan route to Shikrapur parking, while buses from Mumbai will use the Wadgaon Fata–Mhalunge–Chakan route. Light vehicles coming via old Mumbai-Pune Highway will be redirected via Alandi Phata, Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi Chowk, Alandi–Markal–Tulapur towards Lonikand parking.
Authorities have also imposed height restrictions on certain routes, and only vehicles carrying attendees below 8 feet in height will be allowed.

Essential services like fire brigade, police, and ambulances will be exempt from these restrictions. DCP Patil urged citizens to use alternate routes and cooperate with the temporary traffic changes.

This temporary traffic management aims to ensure a safe and orderly flow of vehicles during the Vijaystambh program while minimizing inconvenience for residents and commuters.
