Punawale, 15th April 2026: A confrontation over alleged wrong-side driving escalated into violence in Punawale on Sunday afternoon, leaving a 34-year-old real estate consultant injured. The Ravet police, under Pimpri Chinchwad police, arrested the autorickshaw driver involved in the incident on Monday.

According to police, the incident occurred near the victim’s residence. The consultant was driving in the area when he noticed an autorickshaw approaching from the wrong side. He stopped his vehicle and objected to the driver’s actions, citing concerns over road safety.

The situation soon turned into an argument. Police said the autorickshaw driver, identified as Santosh Bhosale (27), a resident of Mulshi, allegedly became aggressive, verbally abused the consultant, and forced him out of his car. During the altercation, Bhosale reportedly picked up a jack from his vehicle and attacked the consultant, injuring his left palm.

The injured man sustained a deep wound and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received seven stitches. After treatment, he filed a complaint with the Ravet police, providing details of the autorickshaw, including its registration number.

Based on the complaint, police traced and apprehended the accused on Monday. A case has been registered under Section 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon, along with other relevant provisions. Further investigation is ongoing, police said.
