Pune Road Rage: Biker Assaulted Over Smoking In Public Place
Sadashiv Peth, 27th September 2025: A biker was assaulted on Tilak Road after a heated argument with a youth over smoking in a public place. The accused has been arrested by the Vishrambaug police.
The arrested youth has been identified as Vipul Gullapelli (19), a resident of Mithapelli Niwas, Palkhi Vitoba Chowk, Nana Peth. The complaint was lodged by Saurabh Vinayak Methe (32), a resident of Prabhu Shriram Apartment near Renuka Swaroop School, Sadashiv Peth.
According to police, the incident took place on September 26 around 10:30 a.m. when Saurabh was riding his bike on Tilak Road. Gullapelli was standing near the post office in Sadashiv Peth and smoking. Saurabh asked him to move aside, which triggered an argument. Gullapelli allegedly retorted, “Don’t try to do social service.”
The verbal spat soon escalated. Gullapelli allegedly abused Saurabh and hit him on the head with a stone before fleeing the spot. He was later arrested, and the case is being investigated by Police Head Constable Bhujbal.
