Hadapsar, 7th February 2024: In a shocking incident of road rage, a confrontation between two individuals escalated to a threatening level as a licensed pistol was brandished. The incident, which unfolded on Wednesday, near Dr. Shakila Pathan’s clinic in Malwadi, Hadapsar, has led to the detention of the accused.

The complainant, Saurabh Tanaji Kale (27), a resident of Hadapsar, and his friend were riding a two-wheeler when their path collided with a bike driven by the accused, Pratap Dharma Takke (39), a resident of Katraj, a private security guard from Katraj, Pune. What started as a typical road mishap took a dangerous turn as tempers flared.

The situation escalated to the point where Takke allegedly pulled out his licensed pistol, a silver-colored foreign-made firearm with the inscription “GSF ASHANI” in Hindi. Pointing the weapon at Kale, the accused reportedly threatened to shoot each person present and verbally abused the complainant’s friends.

The Hadapsar Police have taken swift action by filing an FIR against Takke under Sections 452, 504, 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 30 of the Arms Act. The accused has been detained, and crucial evidence, including the illegal firearm and seven live cartridges, has been seized. Assistant Sub-Inspector SV Lonkar is heading the investigation.

Takke worked as private bodyguard of MLA Rohit Pawar between June and December 2023.
