Pune: Routes Changed As Gahunje Braces For Traffic Surge As India Faces Bangladesh In ODI World Cup

Gahunje, 18th October 2023: The ongoing One Day Cricket World Cup Cricket Tournament 2023 has enthralled cricket fans worldwide, and one of the marquee matches, the India vs. Bangladesh clash, is set to take place on the 19th of October 2023 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, situated within the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate in Gahunje. With a significant influx of spectators expected to arrive in private vehicles to witness the match, authorities anticipate potential traffic congestion in the area.

Following will be the traffic changes tomorrow as per the information given by Dehu Road Police Station –

1. Access to Krishna Chowk from Mamurdi Under (Masulkar Farm) is prohibited. Alternate Route – Vehicles arriving from Lodha should make a right turn at Mamurdi Underpass, proceeding to Krishna Chowk via Bapdev Bua.

2. Entry is restricted from Mamurdi village to Mamurdi underpass (Masulkar Farm) side. Alternate Route – Vehicles on this route should head towards their destination behind Mamurdi Zakat Naka.

3. Access to Mamurdi Underpass side to Mamurdi Underpass side after the match will be closed for vehicles in Parking No. 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13 provided in Sainagar area. Alternate Route One – These vehicles are to proceed to their desired destination via Sainagar Road to Central Chowk. Alternate Route Two- Vehicles on this route will reach their destination via Shitala Devi-Mamurdi Zakat Naka.

4. Entry to the stadium via Gahunje bridge Y Junction is restricted for car pass-holder vehicles and all vehicle types, excluding essential service vehicles.

5. Entry of cars coming from Mumbai and heading to the stadium from the Dehu Road exit through the service road adjacent to the expressway is prohibited for five-date vehicles and all other vehicle types except essential service vehicles.

While these traffic route modifications are temporarily implemented to accommodate the India vs. Bangladesh ODI World Cup cricket match on the 19th of October 2023, residents and motorists are encouraged to utilize alternative routes to navigate the area efficiently. The adjustments aim to facilitate a seamless experience for both cricket enthusiasts and local commuters.
