Pune RPF gets cyber crime cell of Central Railway

Pune, June 21, 2019 : Atul Pathak IG-cum-Principal chief security commissioner today inaugurated the Railway Protection Force (RPF) cyber crime cell of central railway at Pune. Milind Deouskar (DRM, Pune), Prafulla Chandra (ADRM, Pune), senior divisional security commissioner D Vikas, asst. security commissioner BK Makraria were present to grace the occasion.
This is the first of its kind cyber cell on the Indian Railways designed as per the instructions by DG RPF Arun Kumar. The cyber cell has been opened on Central Railway to tackle e-ticketing frauds, social media issues related to railways, CCTV footage analysis and technical analysis for passenger crime.
The staff posted at the cyber cell have been screened by the Maharashtra police cyber cell/Mumbai and have undergone training at Maharashtra Intelligence Academy (Pune), North Eastern Police Academy (Meghalaya), RPF Academy and the CBI. The cyber crime cell has been equipped with state of the art high end forensic work stations, advanced servers, mobile forensic, disk cloning and incident response toolkits etc which will open a new era of digital advancement for the Indian Railways.
Cyber crime cell of RPF will be doing multitasking such as detection of crime, prevention of crime, training railway officers and staff, sensitizing passengers etc.
