Pune, 8th July 2021: Hotel bills are being paid by the Pune district administration for providing accommodation and food to doctors and health service employees during the last year’s Coronavirus pandemic period. However, the documents of nine hotels are not available in this list.

This raises the question that for whom exactly this hotel was made available, why their records are not available.

Last year, during the Coronavirus infection period, it was decided to keep doctors, nurses and ward boys on duty for one week and quarantine for one week. For this, the district administration enlisted the help of seventy hoteliers in the city. Until last November, the service was provided by hoteliers to health care officials. It has been billed around Rs 18 crore. The district administration has sent a list of bills to Sassoon Hospital and instructed them to pay.

When the hospital examined the list, officials said it did not have any information or documents from the nine hotels. Despite inquiring about this from the district administration, no information was received. Meanwhile, so far, bills of 43 hoteliers have been paid, officials said.

Sassoon Hospital has been instructed to check the documents. Detailed information on which hotel was made available to doctors and staff will be taken, said Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, district collector.
