Pune: Rs 1,800 Crore Government Land Scam Unearthed in Hadapsar; Kranti Shetkari Sanghatana Threatens Protest
Pune, 30th July 2025: A major land scam involving government property worth approximately Rs 1,800 crore has come to light in Hadapsar, Pune. Amol Tupe, founder-president of the Kranti Shetkari Sanghatana, has alleged a deep-rooted nexus between government officials and private developers, exposing the details through an official public statement.
The land in question, located in Manjari Budruk (Survey Nos. 180 to 184), spans 73 hectares and belongs to the irrigation department. It was leased to the Subhash Samudayik Sahakari Shetki Sangh Ltd for collective farming from 1985 to 2015. After the lease expired, the cooperative society allegedly passed an illegal resolution to sell the land to a private company without a valid agreement.
Tupe claimed that senior bureaucrats, cooperative society office-bearers, builders, and fake companies were all involved in the illegal transaction. While the official government valuation of the land is Rs 306 crore, the current market value stands at around Rs 1,800 crore. Allegations include Rs 3.3 crore in cash misappropriation, Rs 42 crore in TDR (Transferable Development Rights) manipulation, and Rs 16 crore through unlawful land sales.
Kranti Shetkari Sanghatana has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, Cooperation Minister, Irrigation Minister, and Pune’s Guardian Minister, demanding criminal charges against the accused. Tupe stressed that such public land should be used for hospitals, playgrounds, and social infrastructure, not for illegal profiteering.
He warned that if the government fails to act promptly, the organization will launch a mass protest and may also move the courts. He has demanded an immediate investigation under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Money Laundering Act, and Cooperative Societies Act.
