Pune: Rs 2.77 Crore Sanctioned For Water Supply To Four Suburbs
Pune, 9th July 2022: As there is water scarcity in the villages included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Rs two crore 77 lakh will be spent for water supply by tanker in four of these suburbs. The tenders regarding the same were approved by the standing committee today.
Due to inadequate water supply systems in 34 villages included in PMC and new constructions, it is becoming impossible to provide water to the growing population. Water is being supplied to these villages through wells, canals, boreholes or tankers.
As the water supply scheme in these villages is still being built, the citizens here are dependent on other options.
In the meeting of the standing committee of the PMC, a proposal was made to supply water to the wards within the limits of the Hadapsar-Mundhwa War Office. For this, an expenditure of Rs 97 lakh 21 thousand has been approved. This work has been assigned to Jadhav Water Supplier.
A tender of Rs 39 lakh 99 thousand for supplying tanker water to the newly included Dhayari and other areas. Water will be supplied by Raja Construction.
A tender was called for supplying water by tanker to Uruli Devachi, Fursungi and Shewalwadi areas due to contamination of groundwater sources due to waste depots. NY Shivarkar’s proposal of Rs 96 lakh 88 thousand was approved.
In order to supply water by tanker to Ambegaon Khurd and other areas, M. Gujar Water Service’s tender of Rs 49 lakh 89 thousand was accepted.
