Pune: Rs. 50 Lakh Fund Approved For Mulshi Water Supply Scheme Repair

Pune, 10th May 2024: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has approved an expenditure of Rs. 50 lakh for the repair of the Mulshi Regional Tap Water Supply Scheme. Consequently, the government has published the decision in this regard, clearing the way for the scheme’s amendment. While approving, ECI has imposed conditions and instructed that the work be carried out by these conditions.

Mulshi Taluka falls under the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, where voting took place on Tuesday (May 7th). Afterwards, the project work was approved by the Election Commission of India (ECI), subject to certain conditions. The primary condition stipulated by the ECI is that the Pune District Collector must declare that Mulshi Taluka is facing a water shortage issue.

In this decision, the Pune Collector has to ensure that there is no adverse publicity during the model code of conduct period, aligning with the political objectives of this scheme. The government has instructed the Pune Zilla Parishad that the tender for this scheme should be issued for seven days, and the work should be completed by June 18, 2024, with water supply commencing thereafter. The government decision in this regard has been issued by Pravin Kumar Pawar, the Officer of the Water Supply Department of Pune Zilla Parishad.
