Pune: Unlawful Assemblies To Banned From Tomorrow To Ensure Smooth Lok Sabha Elections
Pune, 10th May 2024: On 13th May, Lok Sabha elections voting will take place in the Pune, Shirur, and Maval Lok Sabha constituencies of Pune District. Under the Pune City Police Commissionerate, the areas of the Pune Lok Sabha constituency and some parts of the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency fall.
Therefore, Pune City’s Joint Commissioner of Police Pravin Pawar has issued instructions that from 6 PM on 11th May to 12 AM on 14th May, preventive orders are in place against holding illegal gatherings and public meetings within the jurisdiction of the Pune City Police commissionerate.
Under the Pune City Police Commissionerate’s jurisdiction, Wadgaon Sheri, Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Parvati, Pune Cantonment, and Kasba Peth Vidhan Sabha constituencies fall within the Pune Lok Sabha constituency, while Shirur and Hadapsar Vidhan Sabha constituencies are part of the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency. By this directive, the gathering of illegal crowds and the holding of public meetings are prohibited 48 hours before the completion of the polling process to ensure a smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections.
