Wanowrie, 12th April 2023: The Pune police are investigating a case of theft at Ruby Hall Clinic in Wanowrie, where a gold chain worth Rs 70,000 was stolen from a deceased patient’s neck.

The incident occurred on March 25 when Akash Pardeshi was admitted to the hospital after falling down due to dizziness. However, he passed away before receiving treatment.

When Akash’s brother Deepak arrived at the hospital, he noticed a gold chain around Akash’s neck. But before he could inform the doctors, a thief stole the chain. Deepak did not file a complaint at the time due to the funeral proceedings.

However, on March 28, after completing Akash Pardeshi’s last rites, Deepak (60) filed a complaint at Wanowrie police station.

The police investigated the matter and registered a case against Maruti Kisan Bhalerao (36), a ward boy at the hospital, based on Deepak’s complaint. Bhalerao is suspected of stealing the gold chain from Akash’s neck. The police have launched an investigation into the matter, and sub-inspector Santosh Gaikwad is handling the case.
