Pune Rural Police To Speed Up Action Against Mathadi Extortionists: Special IG Phulari

Pune, 12th April 2023: Special Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur range) Sunil Phulari has emphasized the need to prevent extortion in the name of Mathadi and maintain peace in industrial companies across various parts of the Pune district.

In a statement after the annual inspection review of Pune Rural Police, IPS officer Phulari highlighted the importance of communication with representatives of industries and industrial cities to speed up action against criminals based on their tips.

Phulari stated that preventing extortion and avoiding traffic jams in industrial areas were among the top priorities. The police will patrol the MIDC area and take action against those who demand extortion in the name of Mathadi. Additionally, the transfer of responsibility of security from the common man to the entrepreneurs has been indicated.

The inspection also recognized the achievements of Pratiksha Ramdas Bagdi, the first Maharashtra woman Kesari and daughter of a policeman, who was honored with a Puneri turban. Phulari and Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Ankit Goyal appreciated her performance and acknowledged the support of her parents in achieving the title of Maharashtra Kesari.

Meanwhile, six two-wheelers were launched for patrolling in rural areas to enhance police presence and prevent crime in those regions.
