Pune Running to host 4th ‘Pune Running Beyond Myself 2016′
- The 4th edition of event will be held on 16th Oct 2016
- A full marathon of 42km run also introduced
Pune, June 22: Pune Running, a city based non – profit organization that creates awareness about benefits of running and staying fit among people, will be organizing the 4th edition of ‘Pune Running Beyond Myself 2016’ (PRBM 2016) a Run Marathon on Sunday, 16th October 2016. With an addition of new category of 42km run, a special Charity Walk will also be organised during this Marathon. This was announced by Priti Arwade, Race Director of Pune Running.
Running Enthusiasts and President of Pune Running Sudhir Darode, Committee members like Vinod Satav, Nikhil Shah, Sandeep Kolatkar, Sudhi Haribhat, Arvind Bijwe, Mahesh Narkar, Rakesh Mehta were also present on this occasion. The newly revamped t-shirt of Pune Running was launched at the hands of famous Pune based athletes, adventure sports enthusiasts and Comrade Runners on this occasion.
While sharing the details about the event, Priti Arwade said, “we are very happy to see the increasing number of running enthusiasts participating in the ‘Pune Running Beyond Myself’ event. This is the fourth edition of this event and we are expecting more than 12000 people in the city to participate this year. The objective behind organizing this event is to make Pune a running city and to encourage large number of people to take up running as a fitness activity especially women.”
Pune Running is one of the biggest groups of fitness and running enthusiasts which aims to create awareness of fitness through running. The principal objective of the organization is to make people aware at large that if running is taken up regularly as exercise, improves physical and mental health boosts confidence, increases immunity and helps prevent diseases, lose weight, relieves stress and make new friends. An event of this type and scale generates a lot of interest and enthusiasm and has the potential to inspire an entire community to take up running as an integral part of life,” mentioned Sudhir Darode, President of Pune Running.
In PRBM 2016, participants can choose to run Full Marathon or Walk and Run Marathon in five different categories between 3km, 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. To make running a memorable experience for the runners, organizers will arrange aid stations after every 2km with water, fruits and biscuits to keep the runner hydrated and energized along with the First Aid facility.
Pune Running, formed in 2010 by a group of friends who came up with idea of forming a group of running enthusiasts have been closely involved with charity organizations like KEM Hospital and SOFOSH to raise and contribute funds for social cause. This year also the funds raised through PRBM 2016 will be used for women education, women health and for police wale-fare.
