Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill (IPS) had earlier assured citizens that the investigation would be completed swiftly and the chargesheet would be filed within 15 days. Fulfilling that commitment, Gill personally remained present in court till late Saturday night to oversee the completion of the filing process.

According to the post-mortem report, the accused had allegedly stuffed cloth into the child’s mouth and inflicted injuries on her body.
