From Head Girl to School Topper: APS Khadki’s Ananya Misra Scores 98.6% in CBSE Class XII Exams

Pune, 17th May 2026: Academic excellence, leadership and a passion for social change came together in the inspiring journey of Ananya Misra, a Humanities student of Army Public School (APS) Khadki, who emerged as the overall school topper in the CBSE Class XII examinations for the academic year 2025-26 with an outstanding score of 98.6%.

The stellar results of APS Khadki once again reflected the institution’s strong academic culture, with students across streams delivering exceptional performances. The school also recorded remarkable achievements in the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) category, underlining its inclusive and student-centric approach to education.

Among the many achievers, Ananya stood out not only for her academic brilliance but also for her contribution to student life as the School Head Girl. “I am a Humanities student with an enduring fascination for literature, political discourse and the power of ideas to shape society,” Ananya said while reflecting on her academic journey.

An ardent student of Political Science, Ananya aspires to work in the social sector and contribute meaningfully to issues that require empathy, awareness and critical thinking. Beyond academics, she enjoys literature, journalism and debates, while also balancing her intense study schedule with lighter moments, including “the occasional binge-watching marathon,” as she describes it.

Ananya also acknowledged the unwavering support of her parents, sister and teachers, whom she described as the pillars behind her achievement.

“Their guidance extended beyond instruction. Through compassionate encouragement and constructive criticism, they constantly pushed me to refine my abilities, question my assumptions and strive for excellence without losing humility,” she said.

She expressed deep gratitude towards the school management and faculty members for fostering curiosity and independent thinking among students.

“They transformed classrooms into spaces of curiosity rather than mere instruction, and for that, I shall remain profoundly grateful,” Ananya said.
