Pune Rural Police Form Special Cell Of Volunteers To Manage Traffic and Crowd In Lonavala During Monsoon

Pune 8th July 2023: The Pune Rural Police have formed a special cell of volunteers to manage the traffic and crowd in the Lonavala City and rural parts as a large number of tourists visit Lonavala during monsoon. The rural police have appealed students, social organisations and others to join the volunteers’ team.

“Due to monsoon heavy crowd of tourists is reported in Lonavala City and adjoining areas on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. To manage the traffic movement and crowd we are forming ‘Lonavala Police Volunteers Cell’. NSS cadets, college students, NGOs, private organisations etc. can join us by simply filling their details in the Google form link provided by us. I request everyone to be part of this special unit” Satyasai Kartik, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) said.

It may be noted that thousands of tourists visit Lonavala and adjoining areas on holidays with their friends and family. The heavy crowd of tourists leads to a long traffic jam making it difficult for police to manage the traffic flow.
