Pune : Rural Police Seize 24 Kg Ganja From Daund, One Arrested
Pune 22nd Sept 2023: The Local Crime Branch Unit of Pune Rural Police has arrested a person from outside the premises of Daund Railway Station and have seized a total of 24.85 Kg of Ganja worth Rs 3,72,750 from his possession. The action was taken in a joint operation by the crime branch and officials of the Daund Railway Station on Wednesday.
According to police, the crime branch officials had received information about a person carrying ganja outside the Daund Railway Station. Accordingly, the Daund Police Station officials were alerted and a person identified as Sapan Beneet Beer, a resident of Gajapati district of Orissa was taken into custody. He was confiscated and the Ganja concealed in tape hidden in the bag was recovered. It was revealed that the accused had brought it to sell in the area.
A case under relevant section has been registered in the matter and police are investigating further in it.
