Pune, 31 August 2021: Good news for women constables in Pune rural police force. Now they will have eight hours of duty instead of 12 hours. The orders have been issued by the Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh.

Women who are on duty often have to work long hours many times a year for festivals, protests, VIP visits, serious crimes etc. As a result, their family responsibilities are affected and their daily duties are also affected.

Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Pandey had sympathetically considered the plight of women police officers and ordered them to be given eight hours of duty. For this, Pune Rural Police has been selected for a trial.

According to the order issued by Pune rural SP, women police officers of Pune Rural Police will be on duty for eight hours from September 1.

It has been warmly welcomed by women police officers. If the experiment is successful, male police officers will also be on duty for eight hours, Deshmukh said.
