Pune: Sahyadri Hospitals Pauses Living Liver Transplant Program Amid Investigation

Deccan, 26th August 2025: Sahyadri Hospitals has announced a temporary suspension of its Living Liver Transplant Program following a notice from the health authority, which has launched an investigation into the program. In a statement released today, the hospital expressed its full cooperation with the authorities and commitment to ensuring a thorough and uninterrupted review process.

Recently a couple died after liver transplant at the hospital.

“We have received the notice from the health authority and are fully cooperating with the investigation into this matter. As a gesture of our complete support for a thorough and uninterrupted review, we have agreed to temporarily put our Living Liver Transplant program on hold,” the hospital stated.

Sahyadri Hospitals clarified that all other operations, including other transplant services and surgical procedures, will continue unaffected. The hospital emphasized its ongoing dedication to delivering compassionate and high-quality care to its patients during this period.

“Our dedicated team remains committed to providing compassionate and high-quality care to all our patients,” the statement added.

The hospital has not disclosed specific details about the nature of the investigation or the expected duration of the program’s suspension.
