Kondhwa, 4th January 2026: A 30-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Lonand railway station in Satara district after being threatened with a police complaint and allegedly harassed for money. The Yewalewadi police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against seven people, including two women.

The deceased has been identified as Ramdas Bharat Pawar (30). His sister, Rupali Santosh Pujari (33), a resident of Balasahebnagar in Lonand, lodged a complaint at the Yewalewadi police station, following which the case was registered.

According to police, Pawar was working as a craftsman at Sheetal Glamup Unisex Salon in the Yewalewadi area. He reportedly had a dispute with the salon owner and others associated with the establishment. Police said the accused allegedly threatened Pawar with filing a police complaint and demanded ₹5 lakh from him to withdraw the threat.

Investigators said Pawar had informed his sister about the alleged harassment and pressure. Unable to cope with the situation, he is believed to have taken the extreme step. Before his death, Pawar reportedly wrote notes in a notebook and also posted messages on social media, stating that he was ending his life due to harassment by the accused.

On December 30, Pawar jumped in front of a train near Lonand railway station, resulting in his death on the spot. Based on the complaint filed later by his sister and the material collected during preliminary inquiry, police registered a case against seven accused for abetment to suicide.

Assistant Police Inspector Thorat is conducting further investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events and the role of each accused.
