Pune, 6th August 2026: Pune Samvad will organise two special public sessions on Saturday, August 8, at Bhausaheb Chitale Auditorium, 6th Floor, S.P. College Campus, Sadashiv Peth, focusing on different dimensions of Naxalism. The first session, “Voices from the Ground”, will be held from 6.00 pm to 7.15 pm and will feature victims of Naxalite violence and a C-60 Commando sharing their firsthand experiences. This will be followed by the second session, “Naxalism – A War Within”, from 7.30 pm to 8.45 pm, in which Sandeep Patil, IPS, Special Inspector General of Police, Nagpur Range, will deliver a special information session on the realities of Naxal-affected regions, followed by an interactive Q&A. The opening panel will give citizens a rare chance to hear firsthand from victims of Naxal violence and frontline anti-Naxal personnel.
Drawing on his field experience, Patil will discuss challenges for security forces, the changing situation in Naxal-affected areas, and regional transformation. The session will help citizens understand one of India’s key internal security challenges from a frontline officer’s perspective.
