Alandi, 3rd May 2025: The annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession will commence from Alandi on 19th June, marking the start of the revered Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage to Pandharpur. As per tradition, the Palkhi will depart from the Samadhi Mandir around 8 PM, embarking on a 17-day journey that will culminate in Pandharpur on 5th July, just ahead of the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations on 6th July.
The palkhi will make its first halt at Gandhiwada, with significant stops in Pune on 20th and 21st June, followed by Saswad, Jejuri, Walhe, and Lonand. Key rituals, including the ceremonial ‘ringan’, will be observed at locations such as Chandobache Limb, Purandawade, Khudus Phata, and Wakhari. The procession will be stationed in Pandharpur for five days, allowing devotees to participate in the Ashadhi Ekadashi festivities.
The return journey to Alandi will begin on 10th July, concluding on 20th July after an 11-day timeline. The Ashadhi Wari, a centuries-old spiritual tradition, draws thousands of Warkaris who walk in devotion, singing abhangas and celebrating the legacy of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj.
