Pune: School Bus Driver Arrested for Assaulting Tempo Driver Near Magarpatta Bridge
Hadapsar, 11th October 2025: The Hadapsar Police have arrested a school bus driver for allegedly assaulting a tempo driver and damaging his vehicle near the Magarpatta Bridge area. The incident took place on October 9, 2025, around 3 p.m., when the school bus driver reportedly drove recklessly and got into a violent altercation with the tempo driver.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Suraj Ramesh Patil (32), a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Patil allegedly verbally abused the tempo driver, assaulted him, and later used an iron rod from the bus to smash the tempo’s front windshield, causing panic among motorists and pedestrians.
A case has been registered at Hadapsar Police Station under Crime Register No. 874/2025 for offences under Sections 281, 351(2), 352, 324(2), 37(1), 135, 3, and 5 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
After receiving information about the incident, the Hadapsar Police team quickly traced and apprehended the accused from Chinchwad. Officials confirmed that the financial loss suffered by the tempo driver was recovered from the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Rajkumar Shinde commended the swift response of the investigating team. “Upon receiving the information, Hadapsar Police efficiently apprehended the accused from Chinchwad. The financial loss suffered by the tempo driver has been promptly recovered from the accused. The police ensured swift and decisive action in the matter,” DCP Shinde said.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
