Viman Nagar, 11th October 2025: The Pune City Police have arrested three habitual burglars and recovered stolen property worth ₹14 lakh, including gold ornaments and laptops, in a major breakthrough by the Viman Nagar Police Station.

The case (Crime Register No. 465/2025) was registered on September 23, 2025, after complainant Anjali Kanikraj Sigamani (34), a resident of Wadgaon Shinde Road, Lohgaon, reported a house break-in. The burglars had allegedly broken the lock of her house and stolen about nine tolas (90 grams) of gold ornaments and two laptops.

Following directions from Senior Police Inspector Govind Jadhav, the investigation team launched an intensive probe. Police Constables Yogesh Thopte and Dnyandev Awari scrutinized CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas. After reviewing footage from 144 cameras across multiple locations—including Lohgaon, Porwal Road, DY Patil College Road, Jalebi Chowk, Pride World City, Pathare Mala, Dighi, and Bhosari—the police were able to identify and trace the accused.

The arrested suspects have been identified as:

The first two accused were apprehended based on CCTV footage analysis. During interrogation, they revealed the involvement of Shubham Madiwal, who was later arrested on October 6, 2025, following a confidential tip-off received by Head Constables Sachin Manjare and Lalu Karhe.

Police recovered gold ornaments worth ₹11 lakh and two laptops valued at ₹3 lakh from the accused, with the total seized property amounting to ₹14 lakh.

“The team worked tirelessly, reviewing footage from over a hundred CCTV cameras to track the culprits. The arrests have helped solve the burglary and recover valuable property,” said Senior Police Inspector Govind Jadhav of Viman Nagar Police Station.
