Pune: School Bus Rams Car, Two Injured on Navale Bridge

Narhe, 8th December 2025: The accident-prone Navale Bridge witnessed yet another crash on Monday, adding to the growing concern over road safety along this stretch. A school bus rammed into a car at a black spot on the bridge, leaving two people injured. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The collision left the rear side of the car badly damaged, while the front portion of the bus also sustained impact. A traffic jam followed the incident, with police personnel rushing to the spot to regulate vehicular movement.

Accidents have become alarmingly frequent on Navale Bridge. On November 13, a fatal multi-vehicle pile-up killed eight people and injured several others. Just four days later, another crash involving four to five cars occurred on the Bhumkar Bridge section, causing heavy damage to multiple vehicles.

Following the recent spate of accidents, Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol had convened a meeting with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pune Police, RTO, PMRDA, and other departments to draft safety measures for the stretch. He instructed authorities to implement both short-term and permanent solutions to curb recurring mishaps.

Officials are expected to meet again in the second or third week of December to review the progress of the ongoing safety interventions along Navale Bridge.
