Pune: Second Tragic Incident At Shastri Nagar Chowk In A Week Leaves Motorcyclist Dead
Yerwada, 7th March 2023: A fatal road accident occurred at Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerwada yesterday when a private travel bus collided with a two-wheeler, causing the driver to fall under the wheel and pass away.
The victim was identified as Rajendra Jagannath Desai, a 57-year-old resident of Swargate Pune. This marks the second such incident at Shastri Nagar Chowk within the last week.
According to the Yerwada Police, the incident took place around 10 PM on Monday night when the travel bus, numbered MH 14HG3969 and headed from Gunjan Chowk to Ahmednagar Road in Pune, collided with the two-wheeler. The accident resulted in the immediate death of the two-wheeler driver.
Following the incident, traffic was temporarily disrupted at Shastri Nagar Chowk. Yerwada police acted swiftly to transport the victim’s body to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem examination. This is the fourth fatal accident in Yerwada within the last fifteen days, leading local citizens to demand effective measures to prevent future tragedies.
