Pune: Section 144 To Be Imposed In Bhima Koregaon Area; No Outsider To Be Allowed At Vijaystambh

Pune, December 25, 2020: At Bhima Koregaon, millions of people visit the Victory Pillar site on January 1. But this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, citizens have been banned from entering 11 villages including Bhima Koregaon from December 30, 2020, to January 2, 2021. District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh has imposed Section 144 (curfew) in Bhima Koregaon area.

“Unlike every year this year we have simply celebrated all festivals throughout the year. With this in mind, from December 30, 2020, to January 2, 2021, entry of people from outside will be restricted in Lonikand, Perne, Tulapur, Bakori, Wadu Khurd, Kesnand, Kolwadi, Dongargaon, Fulgaon, Sanaswadi, Vadhu Budruk, Pimple Jagtap, Wajewadi, Apti, Wadegaon villages around Bhima Koregaon”, informed District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh.

The program of Vijayasthambh at Perne phata will be broadcast on Doordarshan and social media all day on January 1, 2021. Therefore, the administration has appealed to the citizens to watch them from home and not go there.
