Pune: Security Guard At River Rejuvenation Project Site Assaulted By Thieves While Trying To Steal Iron Pipes

Pune 12th August 2023: A security guard posted at the Mula Mutha River Rejuvenation Project site in Yerawada was assaulted by thieves who were trying to steal iron pipes from the ongoing work site. The security guard identified as Vinod Waghambare (34), a resident of Pimpri Cinchwad sustained injuries in the attack.
According to the complaint registered with police, Vinod was posted for the night duty at the immersion point in Yerawada. He spotted two suspected thieves who were trying to steal the iron pipes from the site at around 5:30 am on Friday. As he tried to stop them the thieves started threatening him and called two more accomplices. The four accused allegedly beat the security guard with bamboo sticks leaving him injured in the incident.
A case in this regard has been registered has been registered at Yerawada Police Station against four unidentified people under sections 324, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
