Pune: Senior Citizen Saves Lives Of More Than 30 Passengers Travelling In PMPML Bus

Pune, 16th January 2023: A passenger traveling from Bhakti Shakti chowk in Nigdi to Pune Station (via Aundh) in a PMPML Bus No 348 saved the lives of more than 30 passengers.
The name of the said passenger is Gautam Sakharam Salunke (60), a resident of Nigdi.
Today (January 16) while traveling from Bhakti Shakti, a bus driver driving the PMPML Bus No 348 near Dalvinagar fell unconscious. Reportedly, Gautam and his wife were standing behind the driver’s seat. As soon as Gautam noticed that the driver is losing his control and fell unconscious on the steering wheel, as a reflex action, Salunke gripped the steering of the bus and turned it to the left side.
While talking to PunekarNews.in, Aniket Salunke, son of Gautam Salunke, informed, “My parents were standing behind the driver. As soon as he noticed the entire situation, he turned the bus to the left side as from the right vehicles were traveling with high speed. As soon as the bus turned to the left, it crashed into a divider, resulting in its stopping. Shortly, all the passengers left the bus and after 4-5 minutes, the driver gained consciousness.”
Salunke also said that police also reached the spot in a short time and registered the entire matter.
