Pune: Shirish Maharaj More, 11th-Generation Descendant of Sant Tukaram, Dies by Suicide Months Before Wedding
Dehu, 5th February 2025: 11th-generation descendant of Jagatguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj, Shirish Maharaj More, has died by suicide in shocking news. The incident came to light this morning at his residence in Dehu Village.
Shirish Maharaj More, known for his extreme Hindutva ideology, was set to marry on 20th April. However, just months before his wedding, his death by hanging has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra.
He was also socially and politically active, with affiliations to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Shiv Pratishthan. Additionally, he served as the president of Shiv Shambhu Pratishtan, an organization based on Hindutva ideology. His recent controversial statement, “Do not buy anything from someone who does not have a ‘tika’ on their forehead,” had gained significant attention.
Sources reveal that before taking his life, he had completely wiped his phone’s memory by formatting it. The exact reason behind his death remains unknown.
An accidental death case is being registered at Dehu Road Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.
