Pune: Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne’s Facebook Page Hacked; Complaint Lodged with Pimpri-Chinchwad Police
Maval, 17th March 2025: Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne from Maval has reported that his Facebook page has been hacked. He has filed a complaint with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police’s Cyber Police Station and has warned followers not to respond to any suspicious posts or financial requests made from the compromised page. The hackers have deleted existing photos and uploaded new ones, prompting Barne to urge caution and report the incident to the police.
This incident highlights a common cybercrime where hackers target prominent individuals’ social media accounts to deceive friends and family into sending money. Barne’s page, named “Shrirang Appa Barne,” was compromised, and he has advised against engaging with any inappropriate content or financial requests from it. The police are investigating the matter.
