Pune, 11th August 2025: Members of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction staged a strong protest outside the Pune District Collector’s office on Monday, demanding the immediate removal of ministers from the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government who, they allege, are embroiled in corruption and misconduct.

As part of the agitation, party workers dressed up to resemble certain state ministers, performed symbolic “black magic” rituals, and scattered counterfeit currency to highlight their allegations. The demonstration, part of a state-wide campaign, saw protesters chanting slogans against the state government and accusing it of sheltering tainted leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Shiv Sena’s Pune city chief Sanjay More alleged that the current cabinet is “filled with corrupt, disgraced, and self-serving ministers.” Yet, the Chief Minister continues to keep them in office. “When an agriculture minister is seen playing rummy in the Assembly, he is rewarded with the sports portfolio. Another MLA caught performing occult rituals is also elevated to ministerial rank. This is unacceptable, and we demand their immediate dismissal,” More said.

Protesters claimed that despite serious allegations against several ministers, no one has been dropped from the cabinet. Instead, they alleged, those facing charges are often rewarded with more influential positions. “We have never seen such a situation in the state before — where accusations lead to promotions instead of accountability,” a protesting Shiv Sainik remarked.

The protest in Pune formed part of the party’s wider “Jan Aakrosh Andolan” (People’s Outrage Campaign) taking place across Maharashtra, aimed at pressuring the state government to act against ministers accused of corruption and misconduct.
