Hadapsar Railway Terminal: New Access Road to be Ready in Two Months
Pune, 11th August 2025: The development of Hadapsar Railway Terminal is in its final stage, with the railway administration focusing on improving infrastructure both inside and outside the station. To make passenger access easier, a new approach road—100 metres long and 7.5 metres wide—is being constructed behind the terminal. The work is expected to be completed within the next two months.
Once ready, the road will offer passengers a more convenient route to the terminal, which is currently accessible only through a narrow approach. The project falls under the jurisdiction of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The width of the main road in front of the station’s primary entrance was also insufficient, making it difficult for larger vehicles to reach the station. To address this, the railway administration has cleared certain buildings and offices in its possession, creating space for road widening.
After the terminal becomes operational, train and passenger traffic is expected to increase significantly. With two access roads in place, passenger movement will be smoother and more efficient.
The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has also announced plans to start a shuttle (feeder) bus service between Hadapsar Terminal and Hadapsar Depot. Three buses will be deployed for this service, offering passengers an affordable travel option to and from the terminal.
Currently, the station handles 14 DEMU stoppages and 10 mail/express train services, transporting around 4,000 passengers daily. Once the new facilities and services are launched, the number of trains and passengers is expected to rise considerably.
