Pune: Shivshahi Bus Collides With Container Truck, 6 Passengers Injured

Uruli Devachi, 19th September 2022: Around midnight, there was an accident involving a Shivshahi bus and a container truck near Hotel Sonai on Saswad road. Six persons sustained injuries in the accident.

The Fire Brigade received a call at 12.29 am that some people were injured and stuck in the bus due to the accident. A team was rushed to the spot from Kaleborate Nagar fire station. On reaching the spot, fire officer Anil Gaikwad informed the control room that there was a major accident involving Shivshahi bus (MH14 GO 3104) Pandharpur-Swargate route and container truck (MH18 AA 7190). The container driver was also sent to the hospital. People had already sent five injured persons to the hospital.

While inspecting the bus, the fire brigade found a man stuck behind the driver’s seat. The person trapped in the seat was freed within five minutes and sent to the hospital in an ambulance. Both the accident vehicles were removed as the cranes reached the spot.

According to officials, the container was coming out of a godown near Uruli Devachi Phata. At the same time, the Shivshahi bus was coming towards Pune. The driver of the speeding Shivshahi bus could not control it and hit the container.

Police are further investigating the case.
