Pune: Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj And Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Routes To Be Completed By December: Nitin Gadkari

Pune, 11th March 2023: Shri Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Route, which connects the two important religious places of Alandi and Pandharpur in Maharashtra, was inspected today by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari along with MP Ranjit Singh Naik Nimbalkar and officials.
Shri Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Route (National Highway 965) is a 234 km long route from Hadapsar (Pune)-Saswad-Jejuri-Neera-Lonand-Phaltan-Natepute-Malshiras-Bondle-Wakhri-Pandharpur. A separate Palkhi route has been included on both sides of the said four-lane road. There are a total of 12 Palkhi spots on this route and the necessary facilities will be provided here.
Along with planting trees on both sides of the road, work will be done based on sculptures, murals, inscriptions etc of saints of Maharashtra at the necessary places. This will add to the beautification of the route and commuters will benefit from these facilities during the Wari.
Special types of trees will be planted on the Palkhi route, especially sandalwood, tulsi, and other aromatic trees, as well as shade-giving herbal trees such as banyan, neem, pipal, and tamarind are being planted. Currently, 57,200 trees have been planted in the middle of the road and 18,840 on both sides.
