Pune: Six-Day-Old Girl Sold By Father To Two Transgenders

Pune, 27th September 2022: A shocking case of a man from Jalgaon selling his 6-day-old daughter to a transgender residing in Karvenagar area has come to light. Reportedly, two transgenders residing at Sambhajinagar in Karvenagar bought the girl for their benefit.

The father decided to sell the girl without any documents required for adoption and also without the provisions of the Adoption Act as he did not want a girl child. Reportedly, the man already had two daughters and he did not want a third daughter, he decided to sell her.

The baby was with these transgenders from October 21, 2021, to September 23, 2022. Now the baby has been taken into custody by the police, and the police have approached the District Child Welfare Committee Rani Khedikar and informed her about this girl.

She has discussed this with the members of the Child Welfare Committee Vaishali Gaikwad,  Shyamalata Rao, Purvi Jadhav, and Anand Shinde and has decided to temporarily admit this girl to an institution.

The crime branch has registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act against the ruthless father and the buyer.
