Pune: Six Teams to Compete in 2nd PYC Challenger Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament
Pune, 30th April 2026: The PYC Hindu Gymkhana will host the second edition of the PYC Challenger Trophy Open T20 Cricket Tournament, with six teams confirming their participation. The tournament will be held at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana cricket ground from May 1 to May 12, 2026.
Mr. Prasad Shinde, Tournament Director informed that this is the second year of the competition and it features players from the Under-19 and open categories who train at PYC. “The PYC Challenger Trophy provides a platform for both young and experienced players to compete together. It not only helps players showcase their talent but also motivates them to progress to the next level,” he said.
The matches will be conducted in a league-cum-knockout format and will be played with a white ball and in colored clothing. The participating teams include Pathfinders XI, Sinhagad Strikers, Rajgad Royals, Chillies Titans, Purandar Panthers, and Puneri Peshwa.
The winners and runners-up will be awarded trophies. In addition, individual awards such as Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Player of the Tournament will also be presented, Shinde added.
