Pune: Skill Development Initiative Implemented For Juvenile Offenders By Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate

Pimpri, 21st August 2021: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, with the help of social organization Terres Des Hommes, Germany has organised a skill development initiative for Juvenile offenders.

After checking the tendency among the youth regarding various professional skills, a training selection camp was held at the main transport office at Chafekar Chowk in Chinchwad.

Under this initiative, counselling and guidance of psychiatrists will be given to children and with the help of this, an opportunity will be provided to develop various skills among the children. This enables them to gain employment or self-employment. This will also become an ideal for other children in the community that they can live a dignified life without having to resort to crime again in the future.

In the first phase of this initiative 19 out of 35 juvenile offenders from Nigadi, Pimpri, Alandi, Wakad, Bhosari and Talegaon Dabhade police stations have completed the psychiatrist’s test. A skill development training will be given to these children at Kohinoor Institute, Chinchwad. The children will be given a travel allowance and incentives will be given to these children during the training period, said an official.

The initiative was initiated by Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sudhir Hiremath, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Sagar Kawade.

It was organized by the police officers from the Special Juvenile Squad of the Crime Branch Sampat Nikam, Deepali Shirke, Kapilesh Igwe, Amol Muthe, Bhushan Lohre, Manager of Terres Des Hommes, Sampat Mandvi, Neha Joshi, Mandar Shinde. Parnika Kokate, Gajanan Korde, Dipti Joshi provided counselling and guidance.
