Pune: Snehdham Paud Road branch Celebrates Its First Anniversary, Senior citizens can now avail free recreation at Snehdham

Kothrud, 22nd February 2025: The first anniversary of the ‘Snehdham’ recreation center’s Paud Road branch, dedicated to senior citizens, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. “Made for All” has pledged to continue providing free medication support to 60 members every month at the Apte Road branch. Additionally, Snehdham offers free entertainment facilities for senior citizens.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including the founders of Snehdham, Dr. Anuradha Naralkar and Dr. Savita Naiknavare. The initiative was free for all and supported by various dignitaries, including Hon. Vijayamala Tai Kadam (Chairperson, School Committee, Bharati Vidyapeeth), along with Smt. Swapnali Bhosale-Kadam (well-known entrepreneur).
Dr. Savita Naiknavare said “Snehdham has been a sanctuary of joy and companionship for senior citizens across its four branches—Apte Road, Paud Road, Kalyani Nagar and Thube Park. With our fifth branch set to open soon in Balewadi, we continue our mission to create safe, welcoming spaces where seniors can engage, unwind and find a sense of belonging—all free of cost.”
The celebration featured songs, humorous performances, djembe drumming, Ganesh Vandana, storytelling and poetry recitations by senior members, creating a joyful atmosphere. The event concluded with a heartfelt group song, “Lakhalakh Chanderi.”
At the Apte Road Snehdham branch, which has been operational for six years, ‘MED FOR ALL’ from Mumbai distributed essential medications, including those for hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, B12 deficiency, calcium supplements and multivitamins, to over 45 senior citizens. ‘MED FOR ALL’ is an initiative by 16-year-old Vedant Prabhat Agrawal, aimed at helping the elderly and needy gain access to essential medicines. Bridging the gap with technology, Vedant brings together manufacturers and those in need.
This Snehdham initiative is a significant step toward ensuring the health and wellness of its members. The first anniversary celebration of the Vascon Moorthy Snehdham branch at Kalyani Nagar on January 22nd was graced by professional singer Rajashree Tamhankar, who, accompanied by her talented associates, created an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness, leaving the audience spellbound.
Snehdham plans to take an 80-year-old member, along with 50 other senior members, to participate in the Ageless Wonders Walk & Jog Marathon on February 23rd.
