Pune, 29th June 2026: The Warje Police have booked a software engineer and her parents, who are residents of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, on charges of allegedly forging official documents to obtain a passport for the woman’s 14-year-old daughter.

According to the police, the accused allegedly created a fake birth certificate, Aadhaar card, and other supporting documents between 2023 and 2024 in Pune and Ghazipur. The documents were reportedly used during the passport application process.

The case was registered on Saturday after a complaint was filed by the woman’s estranged husband, a 42-year-old resident of Warje.

Police officials said the couple had married through a love marriage, and their daughter was born in Karad. However, the husband and wife have been living separately for the past five years due to marital disputes.

During the investigation, police found that the woman allegedly sought to remove her husband’s name from the child’s official records. To achieve this, she is accused of obtaining a forged birth certificate from Ghazipur, which was subsequently used to secure a new Aadhaar card and other identity documents carrying altered details.

Investigators further alleged that the fabricated documents were submitted to the school in Warje where the girl is enrolled. The same set of documents was later used while applying for the child’s passport.

The alleged forgery came to light after the child’s father became aware of the changes in the official records and approached the police.

Police officials claimed that the forged documents were used to mislead both the school administration and government authorities. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
