Pune: Southern Army Commander Writes To Ex-Servicemen, Promises Full Support On COVID Issues

Pune, 24 April 2021: With the recent surge in Covid cases in the country, Lt Gen JS Nain, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command, has sent a personal message to all Veterans and their families assuring them of the Army’s full support on Covid issues. ESM cells/Nodal Officers have been tasked in every station to help Veterans.

Lt Gen Nain wrote, “Dear Elders / Veterans. I hope that you and your family are safe and in good health. These are difficult times as the second surge of COVID is raging across the country.

I reach out to you to assure each one that the Army is making every effort to ameliorate any COVID-related difficulty that our veterans and their families are experiencing.

I am also confident that collectively we will be able to overcome this challenge. Our medical facilities are being expeditiously expanded. There will be no distinction between the serving and veterans in extending medical treatment.
