Pune: Special Campaign in Chinchwad to Register Disabled Voters

Chinchwad, 2nd December 2023: In response to the Election Commission’s recommendation, a special campaign has been slated for Sunday (3rd) in Chinchwad, aiming to register disabled voters who were previously unable to exercise their voting rights.

Nilesh Deshmukh, the Electoral Registration Officer of the Chinchwad Vidhan Sabha Constituency and Assistant Commissioner of the Property Tax Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation announced the initiative. He urged eligible disabled citizens to make the most of this opportunity and register during the campaign.

The Special Camp for Voters Registration will be conducted from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday (3rd) at the Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad. Disabled persons who have faced barriers to voting will have their names included in the electoral roll through the Special Brief Revision of the Electoral Roll, aligning with the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, set by the Election Commission of India.

Several forms cater to different registration needs:

– Form No. 6: New voter registration
– Form No. 6A: Registration as an overseas voter
– Form No. 6B: Aadhaar Number Information by Existing Voters
– Form No. 7: Objection and Self Deletion
– Form No. 8: Application for correction/shifting/duplicate EPIC, as well as marking as PWD.

Launchpad

Required documents for submission include proof of disability certificate and residency. For Form No. 6 & 8, proof of residence such as a light bill, water bill, Aadhaar Card, bank or post passbook, Indian passport, registered sale deed, registered tenancy agreement, age proof like a birth certificate, Aadhaar Card, 10th or 12th certificate issued by the State Education Board, and for Form No. 7, relevant proof of the person to be omitted.
